FC Annecy suffered a 4-3 defeat in a friendly against Swiss Challenge League side Yverdon on Thursday. Laurent Guyot's side, trailing 2-0 at half-time, scored three second-half goals through substitutes Souleymane Fofana, Noa Borella and Adam Yahi but could not complete the comeback.
The manager had chosen to start with his regulars. "The coach had decided to trust the usual starters, notably Veillon, Casadei, Larose and Sahi Dion," said Laurent Guyot. The match served as preparation during the international break following two consecutive Ligue 2 losses.
Annecy currently sit seventh in the table with 10 points from seven games, having most recently lost 1-2 at home to Dijon on September 18. They now have two weeks to prepare for a key away fixture against Dunkerque on October 9.
The team will need to shore up a defence that has conceded as many goals as it has scored this season. The latest league standings are available on our standings page.
