FC Annecy are moving on with the departure of Nolan Ferro to FK Javor, a move that concludes a major transfer window for the Ligue 2 club. The 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who arrived last winter from Strasbourg's reserve team, is signing a two-season deal in Serbia with an option for a further year.

The transfer is a free one, but Annecy will retain a sell-on percentage for any future sale. Ferro, who has nearly 40 caps for French youth teams, never made a senior appearance for Annecy. He joins a club, FK Javor, currently sitting third in the Serbian second division.

A window of major overhaul

This exit is part of a massive squad reshuffle. The club registered eleven arrivals this summer, including Premier League loans like Ashley Young and Nathan Redmond from Aston Villa, and signings such as Ivorian Fofana from ASEC Mimosas. In parallel, fifteen players have left the club, either permanently or at the end of loan spells, like the returns of Kelyan Rowe and Patterson to Aston Villa.

This overhaul comes as the team holds a solid fifth place in Ligue 2 with ten points from six games. Their recent form reads two wins, one draw, and two losses. The last outing ended in a 2-1 defeat at Guingamp on September 12, despite Thibault Rambaud opening the scoring.

The new squad composition

With the departures page turned, manager Laurent Guyot now has a redefined group. Goalkeepers Callens, Escales and Gonzalez form the last line. The defence welcomes newcomers Oduro (ex-Barcelona) and Do Marcolino (ex-Rennes). The midfield is bolstered by Koné (Aston Villa), Casadei (Basel) and Mozie (Legia Warsaw). The attack relies on Rambaud, Sahi Dion and new arrivals Redmond and Yahi.

The remodelled squad now prepares to host Dijon, 13th in the table, this Friday, September 18. Supporters can check the full schedule of matches on the club's fixtures page. The roadmap for the coming weeks, with key clashes for the top of the table, is available in the standings.
