FC Annecy is accelerating its end-of-window transfer business before the market closes on Tuesday at 8pm. Striker Ben Hamed Touré is in talks over a departure and will not be in the squad for Saturday's home match against Metz (2pm).
Touré set for exit, replacement targeted
Having arrived from Ajaccio a year ago, Ben Hamed Touré has not played this season due to a knee injury. The 26-year-old, who scored three goals and provided three assists last term, is in demand and the club is open to a transfer. Negotiations are ongoing. If he leaves, a specific player has been targeted as a replacement, but if that deal falls through, Annecy is unlikely to seek an alternative.
Centre-back signing close
In search of a successor to François Lajugie in central defence, the sporting management has identified a target. "We are well advanced with someone," said manager Laurent Guyot, confirming progress despite the unsuccessful trial of Luke Mbete. Signing a new defender is a priority to strengthen the squad before the winter break.
Loan decisions for youngsters
With the rules for young professionals having changed, striker Adam Yahi, who signed his first pro contract this summer, could be sent out on loan. The idea, however, would be to keep him at the club until winter. Laurent Guyot outlined his philosophy: "We would like to loan players, but it has to be to a club where they would have a chance to develop." Conversely, attacking midfielder Kilyan Jusseron is not among the potential departures. "I don't wish to loan him at the moment because he is getting closer and closer to the starting team." assured the coach. The busy Ligue 2 schedule is available on our fixtures page.
The French transfer window closes this Tuesday, September 1st, at 8pm, giving Annecy a few final days to complete these moves.
